2019 Recap

I didn't like 2019 that much. I know that sounds brutally honest but this is how I feel and I support being as real as I can. With that said, 2019 had some wonderful highs and some stupid lows in both life and business. So here we go, this is my yearly recap.

The Highs and Lows of Business

Business at SociallyUP was great this year. Our client load reached an all-time high in 2019. We added 4 interns and another full-time employee. Honestly, business as a whole couldn't be better. We're learning and growing and interacting with other small businesses at such a rapid pace. I couldn't ask for more as an agency owner. Even though business as a whole is great, that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement.

Business is great but my workflow is not. I spent many nights in 2019 struggling to get all my tasks done. Personal blogging took a major backseat and all my energy went into SociallyUP. I decided in 2020, I'm focusing more on educating myself and others as well as improving my workflow. I want to be productive in 2020 without stressing myself to my ends. So with this thought-process comes two main goals. Improve workflow + Begin my goals of hosting workshops. I'm making education a top priority this year and educating others is on top of the list. Before I can reach that goal, I have to improve my own workflow so I can free up time to make all of this come together.

Professionally, I'm switching my passion for blogging into a business direction. Basically, showcasing my entrepreneur side outside of my agency. as an individual. This should be fun! The Highs and Lows of Life Life is always a balance of ups and downs or at least that's how I feel. I worked on some fun personal projects this year. I worked on my poetry book which is something I can't believe actually happened. I had the courage to put my poetry partially out into the world. WOW! I also started my online shop where I have some fun notebooks listed. I have one goal with the shop, encourage others to write. Writing is so therapeutic and is something I'm so passionate about.

Speaking of therapeutic, I battled some personal issues this year so writing was definitely therapeutic for me. Being overly busy, stressed, working way too many hours and dealing with the pressures of every day life can really wear on a person. In 2020, I'm definitely going to be more gentle and loving to myself as cheesy as that may sound. I will be blogging more in 2020 so expect to see more content from me for sure.

My content will be based on the things I love, that motivates me, topped with touches of small business tips. Random Thoughts Lastly, it's been on my mind more to interact with others on a personal level more often. I don't want to just educate or blog, I want to form friendships and connections. I also want to travel more. In 2019, we traveled some and it was refreshing to step back from work and see new things. I guess in life, I suddenly feel very motivated to live. Happy New year! Stay tuned as I grow this little space.
